Rita & Krishan’s Chic London Town Hall Wedding
Rita and Krishan’s wedding day started at Old Marylebone Town Hall, with a ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends, before heading off around London on a red vintage bus and ending the day aboard the Elizabethan.
There was something really lovely about the whole day feeling like one big adventure. It started with the elegance of Old Marylebone Town Hall, then quickly became a little less formal once everyone climbed onto the bus. Champagne, music, plenty of laughter and a very good view of London out of the windows made the journey just as much a part of the day as the ceremony itself. After making our way across London, everyone arrived at the Elizabethan for the reception. From there, things naturally settled into the rhythm of a wedding day: drinks, dinner, speeches, catching up with family and friends, and eventually plenty of dancing.
For me, days like this are always about photographing the whole atmosphere rather than just the obvious moments. The excitement before the ceremony, the quick glances between Rita and Krishan, grandparents chatting on the bus, friends laughing over drinks, and all the completely unplanned moments that happen when a room full of people who love each other are together.
And, of course, there were plenty of opportunities to photograph Rita and Krishan properly along the way too. Old Marylebone Town Hall, the streets of London, the vintage bus and the Elizabethan all gave us something different, without the day ever feeling like it had stopped for photographs.
It was a brilliant way to spend a London wedding day, and one that gave me a lot to photograph.
