There is something effortlessly cinematic about weddings that unfold across London, moving through familiar streets, iconic architecture, and pockets of quiet intimacy in between. Rebecca and Steven’s wedding was a beautiful example of this rhythm, blending modern city energy with deeply personal, emotional moments throughout the day.
I’m Polly, the photographer behind Love by Polly (formerly Candid Hour London), and I document weddings across London and the UK with a focus on natural, candid, and editorial-inspired storytelling.
Getting ready at 100 Shoreditch
The day began at 100 Shoreditch, a space that feels perfectly placed above the city, full of light, texture, and that subtle hum of London life below.
Rebecca spent the morning getting ready surrounded by a calm, easy energy, with hair and makeup by @suzannedusekmakeup, which set the tone for a beautifully relaxed start to the day.
There was a quiet excitement in the room as everything unfolded slowly. Soft conversations, final details, and unspoken anticipation filled the space, creating the kind of atmosphere where meaningful moments happen naturally in between everything else.
From a photographic perspective, this part of the day is always about observation, letting moments unfold without interruption, capturing emotion as it appears rather than directing it.
A timeless ceremony at Camden Town Hall
The ceremony took place at the iconic Camden Town Hall, one of London’s most elegant and historic registry offices. Its grand interiors and timeless architecture created the perfect contrast to the modern energy of the morning.
As Rebecca and Steven exchanged vows, the atmosphere felt deeply present, a blend of intimacy, joy, and quiet emotion shared between close family and friends.
Camden Town Hall is one of those spaces where the experience feels both official and deeply personal at the same time, making it a favourite for couples who want a classic London ceremony.
Portraits through Kings Cross and Shoreditch
After the ceremony, we moved through the city for portraits around Kings Cross and Shoreditch, two areas that reflect London’s layered character beautifully.
From the clean lines and modern architecture of Kings Cross to the textured, creative energy of Shoreditch, the contrast created a natural visual narrative for the day.
These in-between moments are often some of the most meaningful, walking between locations, pausing in the city flow, and letting things unfold naturally without pressure or staging.
A reception with skyline views at 100 Shoreditch
The celebration continued back at One Hundred Room at 100 Shoreditch, a unique space high above the city designed for intimate celebrations and modern London weddings.
A room defined by its view, it sits on the 7th floor and offers over 600 square feet of space, with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that frame a panoramic outlook across the city of London. The combination of skyline views and warm wooden wall panelling creates a rare balance, elevated and contemporary, yet still intimate and inviting.
It’s a versatile space for weddings and celebrations, accommodating up to 50 guests for ceremonies, lunches, and dinners, and up to 120 guests for receptions and evening gatherings.
As the light softened and the city began to glow, the atmosphere shifted into something warm, relaxed, and full of connection. Speeches, laughter, and quiet moments between guests unfolded naturally against the backdrop of the skyline.
There’s something special about ending a wedding in the same place it begins — it creates a sense of continuity, while keeping the energy beautifully grounded in one space.

Documentary & editorial wedding photography in London
My approach blends documentary storytelling with a refined editorial eye, focusing on real moments, natural emotion, and the subtle in-between details that often go unnoticed.
Weddings like Rebecca and Steven’s are a reminder that beauty doesn’t come from perfection, but from presence.
''We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better wedding photographer. She was amazing from start to finish—so helpful, organised, and reassuring, which made the whole day feel much less stressful for both of us. She made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera and gave really clear, easy-to-follow directions, which was such a big help. It also felt like she genuinely went the extra mile to make sure we got every shot we wanted. On top of that, we were so impressed with how quickly we received our photos—and they were absolutely beautiful. We’re so grateful and would highly recommend her to anyone! Thank you so much Polly!
